BOLLETTINO DEL CENTRO ROSSINIANO DI STUDI
Editorial director Matteo Giuggioli
Scientific director Céline Frigau Manning
The “Bollettino del Centro Rossiniano di Studi” was founded by Alfredo Bonaccorsi in 1955. Initially a twice-monthly periodical linked to the activity of the G. Rossini Conservatoire in Pesaro, the magazine has undergone a radical change in its approach. Under the direction of Bruno Cagli since 1970, it has gone from being a purely informative periodical to becoming a scientific journal whose musicological contributions and essays have contributed substantially to the rediscovery of the authentic figure of Rossini. The magazine has become an important instrument of the Rossini-Renaissance, shedding full light on all aspects of his art and the era in which he lived.
Since 2020, the Bollettino has adapted to the new standards of today’s scientific journals and has a new structure: the management (henceforth with a fixed term contract) is supported by a scientific committee that have generalised the criterion of the blind double reviews for proposed contributions.
The essays published in the magazine focus on a variety of issues – from creative activity to biographical events, from critical fortune to interpreters, from the problems of staging to executive practice and issues of a more specifically philological nature – suggesting new perspectives, including Rossini’s contemporaries from Pesaro and the society in which he worked.
The 1955-2010 Indexes, published online and updated, are the most efficient consultation tool in the history of the magazine.
